Participou como simposista-conferencista sobre o capítulo em tela em congressos Internacionais </ins>de <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Parasitologia (Guayaquil</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Havana e Tóquio). Soma-se, a tais conquistas científicas, a descrição dos primeiros casos </ins>de <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Angiostrongilose abdominal no Rio Grande do Sul, parasitose sob forma </ins>de <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">lesão anatômica</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">atualmente reconhecida e presente em casos humanos e animais </ins>de <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">laboratório (Brasil e exterior)</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Descreveu, ainda, o primeiro caso de Protetocose observada no Brasil, o segundo </ins>da <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">América Latina. ÁLVARO FERNANDO FOLLE<br />
<br />
Nascido em Passo Fundo (RS) no dia 24 de agosto de 1957, filho de Onorino Folle e de Ladir Durante Folle. Realizou toda sua formação escolar no Colégio Estadual Nicolau Araújo Vergueiro, nesta cidade. Cursou a Faculdade de Medicina na Universidade de Passo Fundo, graduando-se em 1980. Estagiou em Neurologia e Neurocirurgia em Porto Alegre. Sua Residência Médica foi realizada no Pronto Socorro de Fraturas, desta cidade, em Ortopedia e Traumatologia. <br />
<br />
Após estudos específicos em Ortopedia e Traumatologia, em São Paulo, Inglaterra e na Itália, se estabeleceu com clínica em Carazinho, trabalhando também na área de Patologia do Quadril, sua especialidade. Faleceu prematuramente no dia 2 de fevereiro de 1987, vítima de acidente de automóvel, quando retornava a Passo Fundo proveniente de Carazinho. Patrono da Cadeira nº 4 da Academia Passo-fundense de Medicina.<br />
